Celebrate Brooklyn!: Third World

Friday, August 7 , 7:30 pm – 10:30 pm, 2015

Third World performs at the Bandshell as part of Celebrate Brooklyn!, presented by BRIC in partnership with the Prospect Park Alliance. For the latest information, including weather updates, set times, seating configurations, and FAQs, please visit the BRIC website

The Jamaican titans Third World lost their beloved leader William “Bunny Rugs” Clarke last year but have risen like the phoenix from the ashes, “seamlessly fusing reggae with soul and pop” (Billboard) just as they have for 40 years, as cool, steady and easy as ever. Born near Timbuktu and raised in the Ivory Coast, Awa Sangho, “the Golden Voice of Mali,” carries the rich tradition of West African song in her heart and lungs.

Gates open an hour before the performance unless otherwise noted, and all performances are rain or shine.
