Halloween in Prospect Park

Join the Prospect Park Alliance for the 37th annual Haunted Halloween Walk and Fair, as well as Halloween fun at Lefferts Historic House and the Prospect Park Carousel.

  • Halloween Haunted Walk + Fair, 12–3 pm
    Nethermead, Free

    Deep in the Park lies Lookout Hill, the highest point in Prospect Park and home of the Prospect Park Alliance’s Annual Halloween Haunted Walk. Ghouls and goblins lurk behind the trees, ready to provide a silly scare! An adult should accompany young children. After some chills and thrills at the Haunted Walk, enjoy more Halloween fun at our fair. Rain or shine.
  • Creepy Crawly Halloween, 12–5 pm
    Prospect Park Audubon Center, Free

    Take a second look at the creatures that give you the creeps, you may find you like them! Participate in fun activities and experiments that will make your spine tingle! Programs will run from 12–4 pm.

  • Scary Stories With Tammy Hall, 2–4 pm
    Lefferts Historic House, $3 suggested donation

    Make sure you’re sitting next to someone braver than you! Master storyteller Tammy Hall keeps the tradition of scary stories alive with tales told in the village of Flatbush 200 years ago. While you’re here make a spooky Halloween cut-out based on a Lefferts family design.
  • Haunted Carousel, 12–5 pm
    Children’s Corner, Children’s Corner, $2 per ride, $9 for a book of 5 tickets, free with an Alliance Family Plus membership

    Don’t be scared when you see the haunted carousel! Take a spin on the spooky ride to your favorite Halloween jams.

Nature Exploration

Saturday, October 29 , 10 am – 1 pm

Join the Prospect Park Alliance for nature education programs at the Prospect Park Audubon Center, the first urban Audubon Center in the nation.

  • Nature Play, 10–11 am: Join Alliance naturalists and learn to appreciate the beauty of nature and develop self-reliance, creativity and problem-solving skills through different outdoor play-based activities.
  • Discovery Pack, 10 am–12 pm:  The Prospect Park Alliance invites you to get inspired by nature with our new Discovery Packs, a ready-to-go kits filled with nature activities for families.
  • Blooming Naturalists,12–1 pm: So you think you are a Naturalist? Find out at the Audubon Center by learning how to identify birds and use binoculars and field guides.
  • Introduction to Bird Watching, Saturdays, 12–1 pm: Look! Up in the sky, it’s a bird! But what kind of bird is it? Join the Prospect Park Alliance to learn about the magnificent array of birds that call Prospect Park home. Led by the Brooklyn Bird Club.

Prospect Park Zoo

Boo at the Zoo

Saturday, October 29 , 11 am – 4 pm

Grab the family and head to the Prospect Park Zoo for a boo-tastic time. Halloween fun awaits at the annual Boo at the Zoo weekend! Jam-packed with fun activities such as a Costumed Character Scavenger Hunt, face painting, and other Halloween-themed games and crafts and, of course, there'll be plenty of animals to visit.
