Early Morning Bird Walk: Feathered Friends

Sunday, November 6 , 8 am – 9 am, 2016

Join the Prospect Park Alliance and observe some of the Park’s feathered friends  including chickadees, early winter residents such as Northern Shovelers and species of ducks that spend the winter in the Lake. Tour leaves promptly at 8 am. Led by the Brooklyn Bird Club.

Flight Quilt Show

Sunday, November 6 , 12 pm – 4 pm, 2016

Join the Prospect Park Alliance to see the wonderful work of The Brooklyn Quilters' Guild. This year’s exhibit features the artist’s personal interpretations of “Flight”. These original creations range from traditional to contemporary to mixed media fiber art.  While you are here try your hand at making your own paper quilt collage or add to our community paper patchwork quilt.

Nature Exploration

Sunday, November 6 , 10 am – 1 pm, 2016

Join the Prospect Park Alliance for nature education programs at the Prospect Park Audubon Center, the first urban Audubon Center in the nation.

  • Nature Play, 10–11 am: Join Alliance naturalists and learn to appreciate the beauty of nature and develop self-reliance, creativity and problem-solving skills through different outdoor play-based activities.
  • Discovery Pack, 10 am–12 pm:  The Prospect Park Alliance invites you to get inspired by nature with our new Discovery Packs, a ready-to-go kits filled with nature activities for families.
  • Blooming Naturalists,12–1 pm: So you think you are a Naturalist? Find out at the Audubon Center by learning how to identify birds and use binoculars and field guides.
  • Introduction to Bird Watching, Saturdays, 12–1 pm: Look! Up in the sky, it’s a bird! But what kind of bird is it? Join the Prospect Park Alliance to learn about the magnificent array of birds that call Prospect Park home. Led by the Brooklyn Bird Club.

Nestled inside Prospect Park's tree-shaded southwest corner, this much-loved market, occuring every Sunday and Wednesday, is where South Slope and Windsor Terrace residents stock up on locally grown staples. The offerings range from a selection of vegetables, fruits, baked goods, plants, and flowers, to fresh-caught fish and organic baked goods. Monument to the Unelected

All Day, Sunday, November 13, 2016

NYC Parks, together with the Prospect Park Alliance and Historic House Trust, is pleased to welcome Nina Katchadourian’s Monument to the Unelected to Prospect Park’s Lefferts Historic House. This temporary installation, consisting of 58 signs bearing the names of the losing candidates from every presidential election in American history, will be on display through November 13, 2016 at the Lefferts Historic House.
