Election Day In Prospect Park

Join the Prospect Park Alliance for family programming on Election Day.

    Lefferts Historic House, $3 suggested donation

    RSVP to let us know if you are joining us!
    Join the Prospect Park Alliance at the Lefferts Historic House this Election Day where kids vote too! All children under 18 are welcome to cast their votes for national and local representatives, make their mark with a quill pen and try on a tricorn hat. In addition, make campaign signs for your candidate after view the exhibition, Monument to the Unelected. Polls close at 4 pm.
  • Monument to the Unelected, all day
    Lefferts Historic House, $3 suggested donation

    Nina Katchadourian’s Monument to the Unelected is a temporary art installation consisting of 58 signs bearing the names of the losing candidates from every presidential election in American history, on view from November 5-13. Read more about this art installation.
  • Nature Exploration, 12–3 pm
    Prospect Park Audubon Center, Free

    Join the Prospect Park Alliance for nature education programs at the Prospect Park Audubon Center, the first urban Audubon Center in the nation.
    Discovery Pack, 12–3 pm: The Prospect Park Alliance invites you to get inspired by nature with our new Discovery Packs, a ready-to-go kits filled with nature activities for families.
    Bird Nerds Game Hour, 1–2 pm: Test your knowledge of birds in this fun, mildly competitive hour of puzzles, Bingo, card games, and more!
    Nature on the Go!, 2–3 pm: An Alliance naturalist will lead children and families to areas near the Audubon Center, where you can learn about the nature that is all around us and participate in a Citizen Science project.
    Animal Encounter, 3–3:30 pm: Want to watch the snake gobble up a mouse? Join Alliance Naturalists in learning more about the animals in the Audubon Center’s collection and even assist in an actual feeding.
  • Carousel Rides, 12–5 pm
    Children’s Corner, $2 per ride, $9 for a book of 5 tickets, free with an Alliance Family Plus membership.

    Celebrate with a ride on the Park’s beloved 1912 carousel. Join the Alliance at the $150  level and your family (up to 4 people) will receive unlimited rides on the Carousel for a full year!

Monument to the Unelected

All Day

NYC Parks, together with the Prospect Park Alliance and Historic House Trust, is pleased to welcome Nina Katchadourian’s Monument to the Unelected to Prospect Park’s Lefferts Historic House. This temporary installation, consisting of 58 signs bearing the names of the losing candidates from every presidential election in American history, will be on display through November 13, 2016 at the Lefferts Historic House.
