Brooklyn Public Library - Central Library

Our Streets, Our Stories: Prospect Park 150 Stories

Sunday, January 29 , 1 pm – 3 pm, 2017

In celebration of Prospect Park’s 150th Anniversary, Brooklyn Public Library and Prospect Park Alliance invite you to share your Prospect Park story. Join us on January 28 at our Fireside Chat, a community conversation around a campfire, hosted at Lefferts Historic House in Prospect Park, where we will collect submissions of your stories to be archived in the Brooklyn Collection of the Brooklyn Public Library as part of the Our Streets, Our Stories oral history project.

The interviews will take place at the Central Library the Sunday after the Fireside Chat. If you cannot participate in the Fireside Chat, appointments can be made by calling 718.230.2745 or by emailing ososproject@bklynlibrary.org. Interviews will be scheduled for half an hour and will be conducted by library staff.

Bartel-Pritchard Square

Greenmarket at Bartel-Pritchard Square

Sunday, January 29 , 9 am – 3 pm, 2016

Nestled inside Prospect Park's tree-shaded southwest corner, this much-loved market, occuring every Sunday and Wednesday, is where South Slope and Windsor Terrace residents stock up on locally grown staples. The offerings range from a selection of vegetables, fruits, baked goods, plants, and flowers, to fresh-caught fish and organic baked goods. For a full calendar of events and a list of sellers, visit GrowNYC.
