As part of the celebration of the Park's 150th Anniversary, join the Prospect Park Alliance at the Brooklyn Public Library for an author reading: "Genius of Place: The Life of Frederick Law Olmsted" with Justin Martin. With this biography, Martin examines the multi-faceted life of America's premier landscape architect who tirelessly used nature and design to advocate for social justice and the environment. 

A wine and cheese reception with precede the talk at 6:30. Learn more from the Brooklyn Public Library.

Nestled inside Prospect Park's tree-shaded southwest corner, this much-loved market, occurring every Sunday and Wednesday, is where South Slope and Windsor Terrace residents stock up on locally grown staples. The offerings range from a selection of vegetables, fruits, baked goods, plants, and flowers, to fresh-caught fish and organic baked goods. For a full calendar of events and a list of sellers, visit the GrowNYC website.

This Greenmarket at Bartel-Pritchard Square is also open on Sundays, 9 am–3 pm, May 5 through December 22.

Note: The Greenmarket will be closed on December 25, 2019 and January 1, 2020.

Art in the Parks: Carole Eisner

In partnership with NYC Parks' Art in the Parks project, the Prospect Park Alliance presents a public exhibition of sculpture by Carole Eisner. Four sculptures, created from I-beams twisted into lyrical forms will be on display at Grand Army Plaza, Bartel Pritchard Square, Litchfield Villa and the Peninsula through Spring 2017.
