Celebrate the 150th anniversary of Prospect Park with a season of special guided walking tours of this iconic park in the heart of Brooklyn, presented by Turnstile Tours in partnership with Prospect Park Alliance. These two-hour tours will examine the Park’s many layers of natural and human history, from the flora and geology to the architectural eras visible in the built environment. Prospect Park is a reflection of Brooklyn; its history traces that of the city around it, and it is today an important gathering place for many diverse communities that call the borough home. Learn about the Alliance's historic restoration and environment preservation work in the Park, including cultural and recreation projects currently underway. Through this interactive experience, explore how the use of the Park has changed over time, from the original vision of designers Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux to the ways in which the Park is used today.
