Arbor Day 2017

Friday, April 28 , 12 pm – 4 pm, 2017

Join Prospect Park Alliance this Arbor day for games, crafts and an exhibit on Brooklyn's last remaining forest, Prospect Park!

  • Discovery Pack, 12pm–3 pm: Get inspired by nature with our new Discovery Packs, a ready-to-go kits filled with nature activities for families.
  • Bird Nerd Game Hour 1 –2 pm: Learn about birds and nature in this fun, mildly competitive hour of puzzles, Bingo, card games, and more!
  • Nature’s Helpers 2 pm–3 pm: Did you know that trees help trees? After learning how mulch protects tree roots, spend time spreading wood chips around trees.
  • Nature on the Go: ID a Tree, 3–4 pm: Take an in-depth look at the largest organism within Prospect Park (trees) and discover the important role forests play in providing different habitats for the Park’s wildlife.

Lola Star's Dreamland Roller Disco

The Lefrak Center at Lakeside and Lola Star will host themed DJ Disco Dancing. Each Friday night showcases a new theme from 70s Glitter to 80s Glam, dazzling performers, kitschy contests, giveaways and more!

Nature Exploration

Friday, April 28 , 12 pm – 5 pm, 2017

Join the Prospect Park Alliance for nature education programs at the Prospect Park Audubon Center, the first urban Audubon Center in the nation.

  • Discovery Pack, 12–3 pm: The Prospect Park Alliance invites you to get inspired by nature with our new Discovery Packs, a ready-to-go kits filled with nature activities for families.
  • Bird Nerd Game Hour 1–2 pm: Learn about birds and nature in this fun, mildly competitive hour of puzzles, Bingo, card games, and more!
  • Nature on the Go! 2–3 pm: An Alliance Naturalist will lead children and families to areas near the Audubon Center, where you can learn about the nature that is all around us. This program leaves promptly at 2 pm. 
  • Animal Encounter 3–4 pm: Join Alliance Naturalists in learning more about the animals in the Audubon Center’s collection.

Art in the Parks: Carole Eisner

All Day, Friday, April 28, 2017

In partnership with NYC Parks' Art in the Parks project, the Prospect Park Alliance presents a public exhibition of sculpture by Carole Eisner. Four sculptures, created from I-beams twisted into lyrical forms will be on display at Grand Army Plaza, Bartel Pritchard Square, Litchfield Villa and the Peninsula through Spring 2017.
