Join Prospect Park Alliance every Saturday + Sunday through November for nature education programs at the Prospect Park Audubon Center, the first urban Audubon Center in the nation.

Discovery Pack, 10 am–12 pm: Come explore nature on your own with our Discovery Packs, a backpack filled with nature activities and exploration tools, perfect for families and kids to interact with the park in a whole new way!
Animal Encounter, 11 am–12 pm: Join Alliance Naturalists in learning more about the animals in the Audubon Center’s collection. This program starts promptly at 11 am. Animal Encounter is presented in partnership with Macy's.
Nature’s Helpers, 12–1 pm: Help do your part to keep Prospect Park healthy by cleaning up the lakeshore. In this citizen science activity Audubon staff will guide groups to remove litter and record the findings. Fun for all ages and all materials are provided. This program leaves promptly at 12 pm.

Nestled inside Prospect Park's tree-shaded southwest corner, this much-loved weekday market is where South Slope and Windsor Terrace residents stock up on locally grown staples. Open from May 5 to December 22, the offerings range from a selection of vegetables, fruits, baked goods, plants, and flowers, to fresh-caught fish and organic baked goods. This Greenmarket at Bartel-Pritchard Square is also open on Wednesdays year-round from 8 am to 3 pm.

Prospect Park Tour: Hidden Treasures

Join Prospect Park Alliance and Turnstile Tours to explore some of the little-known corners of Prospect Park in this tour that uncovers some of the park's hidden treasures. Once prime attractions, these areas are currently the focus of Prospect Park Alliance restoration efforts to revitalize the Park. The tour includes the Rose Garden and Vale of Cashmere in the park's northeast corner, and well as a guided walk through Brooklyn's last remaining forest, the 150-acre Ravine.
