Presidents Week in Prospect Park

Monday, February 18 , 12 pm – 4 pm

Join Prospect Park Alliance during Presidents Week for family-friendly programs at Lefferts Historic House and the Prospect Park Audubon Center.

Wild in Winter, 12–4 pm
Prospect Park Audubon Center, Free

Bundle up and find out what your favorite Prospect Park animals are doing this winter. Join Alliance naturalists for the Great Backyard Bird Count, a nation-wide conservation effort established in 1900 and much more!
Discovery Pack, 12–3 pm, Prospect Park Alliance invites you to get inspired by nature with our Discovery Packs, ready-to-go kits filled with nature activities for families.
Winter Habitat Building, 12-3 pm, Have you wondered what our park animals do in the winter? Come learn about what our local animals do in winter and help build a life sized structure inside the Boathouse.
Suet Making, 1 pm, Suet is a great food for birds in the winter when they need more calories to maintain their body heat and energy levels. We will be making suet that you can take home and hang in your backyard!
Great Backyard Bird Count, 2 pm, Join Alliance Naturalists in this fun, nation-wide Citizen Science project.  Each checklist submitted helps researchers learn more about the health of birds and how to best protect them!
Animal Encounter, 3 pm, Join Alliance Naturalists in learning more about the animals in the Audubon Center’s collection. This program starts promptly at 3 pm.

Coming in from the Cold, 1–3 pm
Lefferts Historic House, $3 suggested donation

Join Prospect Park Alliance at the Lefferts Historic House and have fun with traditional toys and games. Make your own "Nine Man Morris" board game to take home.

Presidents Week Tennis Program

Monday, February 18 , 1 pm – 4 pm

Prospect Park Alliance offers intensive group instruction for adults and children of all levels of experience. Our accomplished staff of tennis professionals gives players personal attention while they acquire game fundamentals and increase their skill level. Advance registration required.

The Means of a Ready Escape: Brooklyn’s Prospect Park

In celebration of the 150th anniversary of Prospect Park, Brooklyn Historical Society and Prospect Park Alliance present an exhibition that celebrates the founding vision of the Park, traces its social and historical trajectories, and examines the important role that Prospect Park has played as “Brooklyn’s Backyard” for 150 years. 

The Brooklyn Historical Society is closed on major holidays.
