Love and Basketball (2000)

Wednesday, July 24 , 7 pm – 10 pm, 2019
2019-07-24T00:00:00-04:00
11225, NY, Brooklyn

Brooklyn Borough President Eric L. Adams and Prospect Park Alliance present A Summer Movie Under the Stars in partnership with Brooklyn’s  Nitehawk Cinema

RSVP to let us know you are coming!

On Wednesday, July 24, join us for a free, family-friendly screening of Love and Basketball (2000). Two next-door neighbors in Los Angeles, California who are pursuing their basketball careers end up falling for each other. A DJ set by Dr. Israel before the film showcases the film's love of R&B & hip hop from the 80's, 90's, and early aughts. Neighborhood partners will also provide onsite activities.

Musical entertainment will start at 7 p.m. and the film will begin shortly after sundown at Long Meadow North, located nearest to the Grand Army Plaza entrance at Eastern Parkway. The closest subway station is the Eastern Parkway Brooklyn Museum stop on the 2, 3, and 4 lines. The rain date is August 1.

Timeline:
6 pm: Pre-Movie Fun courtesy of our community partners
7 pm: DJ set by Dr. Israel
8:20 pm: Movie Begins

COVID-19 Update: With many other food access points now closed, the need for our markets to supply fresh, healthy food is even greater. To meet the growing need in the safest way possible Grow NYC has issued new safety protocols. Please visit the Grow NYC website for more info: www.grownyc.org

Nestled inside Prospect Park's tree-shaded southwest corner, this much-loved market, occurring every Sunday and Wednesday, is where South Slope and Windsor Terrace residents stock up on locally grown staples. The offerings range from a selection of vegetables, fruits, baked goods, plants, and flowers, to fresh-caught fish and organic baked goods. For a full calendar of events and a list of sellers, visit the GrowNYC website.

This Greenmarket at Bartel-Pritchard Square is also open on Sundays, 9 am–3 pm, May 5 through December 22.
