BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival: Junglepussy, Tygapaw, Mari World

The fiercely sex-positive, toxic masculinity-skewering Brooklyn rapper Junglepussy rose to fame on her first mixtape Satisfaction Guaranteed and the follow-up studio album debut Pregnant with Success; she’s “been grinding conservative gears since as far back as 2012, long before Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion celebrated the lubricated joy of their lady gardens.” (The Guardian) Jamaican-born musician, producer, and DJ Tygapaw, whose monthly queer club nights in Brooklyn turned into a record label focused on black electronic music artists, will spin throughout the evening, and Mari World, a rapper with funk-soul leanings, will infuse the early set with his high-energy performance.
