Earth Day Celebration
Join the Prospect Park Alliance at the Audubon Center for its annual Earth Day celebration.
RSVP to let us know you are coming!
- Fishing Lessons, 12–3 pm: Enjoy this fun introduction to catch-and-release fishing. Department of Environmental Conservation’s Bureau of Fisheries (DEC) and Alliance naturalists will teach participants how to tie a fishing knot, attach bait and cast a line to a try and hook a fish!
- Blooming Naturalist, 12–3 pm: So you think you are a Naturalist? Find out at the Audubon Center by learning how to identify birds and use binoculars and field guides. Participants can even create their own Official Blooming Naturalist button.
- Orienteering, 12-3 pm: Join the Urban Park Rangers as participants will use maps to locate hidden markers in the park. The program’s goal is not only to teach navigational skills, but also to inspire a sense of adventure and self-awareness in unfamiliar terrain.
- Nature’s Helpers, 12-3 pm: Join the Brooklyn Fishing Club and Audubon staff as they lead a lakeside clean-up. All materials will be provided and let’s try to beat our amount of trash from last year!
