Harry’s Handicap Run

Ring in the New Year with Prospect Park Track Club at this unique race! Harry’s Handicap was first run in 1977, and it is designed to allow all runners to have a competitive chance at the podium. Runners will give their estimated paces to the race director, who will then assign them a starting time. Slower runners get a head start, with the goal being that everyone finishes at nearly the same time.

Runners should go to Shepard’s Hall at the back of Holy Name of Jesus Church to receive their pre-race instructions. The race will start and end inside the park at Bartel-Pritchard Square. Post-race, everyone is invited to bring a treat to share and feast on a potluck spread.
