Marine Day
Long Meadow South, 9 am–4 pm, Free
Start Memorial Day weekend with the excitement of Marine Day! The U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) will host Marine Day in Prospect Park featuring interactive and aviation static displays, demonstrations, and a performance by the USMC Battle Color Detachment.
Harvesting Color
Lefferts Historic House, 2–4 pm, $3 Suggested Donation
join Prospect Park Alliance at the Lefferts Historic House on an exploration of color from the natural world. Learn how to use natural ingredients such as flowers, berries and food scraps to naturally dye fabrics. Participants are welcome to bring one natural fiber item (cotton, linen, canvas, or silk) to dye. No previous dyeing experience necessary! All ages welcome! Participation is limited and is on a first come first serve basis

Splashpad Opening
LeFrak Center at Lakeside, 10 am–7 pm, Free
Cool off at the LeFrak Center at Lakeside for the first day of the season at the park’s much loved Splashpad!
Saturday, May 25–Monday, May 27
Nature Exploration, 12–4 pm
Prospect Park Audubon Center, Free
Join Prospect Park Alliance on Memorial Day for nature education programs at the Prospect Park Audubon Center, the first urban Audubon Center in the nation.
Discovery Pack, 12–3 pm: Come explore nature on your own with our Discovery Packs, a backpack filled with nature activities and exploration tools, perfect for families and kids to interact with the park in a whole new way!
Animal Encounter, 2–3 pm: Join Alliance Naturalists in learning more about the animals in the Audubon Center’s collection. This program starts promptly at 2 pm.
Family Bird Walk, 3–4 pm: Prospect Park is a stopping point for hundreds of bird species each year! Join us as we search for these amazing creatures and other nature around the park. Binoculars and bird guides are provided. This program leaves promptly at 3 pm.
Carousel Rides, 12–5 pm
Children’s Corner, $2.50 per ride, $11.50 for a book of 5 tickets, Free with Prospect Park Alliance Family Supporter membership or higher.
Celebrate Memorial Day with the park’s beloved Carousel. Join the Alliance at the Family Supporter level and your family (up to 4 people) will receive unlimited rides on the Carousel for a full year!
