Family Fishing Clinics, 1 pm + 3 pm
Join Prospect Park Alliance for this popular summer tradition where families can go fishing right here in Brooklyn’s Backyard. Learn about local fish species, fishing safety and instruction on how to use tackle. These workshops are geared for families with children under 8, and we will use cane rods. This hour long program starts promptly at 1 pm and 3 pm, late participants cannot be accommodated. Limited walk-up spaces are available on a first come, first serve basis. Presented in partnership with Con Edison.
Family Birdwatching, 4 pm
Did you know that as an Important Bird Area, Prospect Park supports an exceptional diversity of migrating birds and is an essential stopover for about 250 species of birds? After learning how to use binoculars, participants of all ages can join Prospect Park Alliance naturalists on a walk to learn how to identify these birds! This program leaves promptly at 4 pm.
Children 8 and over are recommended to check out our Pop-Up Audubon II programming!
