Pop-Up Audubon II: Gone Fishin’ Clinics

Enjoy the summer with Prospect Park Alliance’s fin and feather programs around the park! Pop-Up Audubon is made possible through the generous support of Con Edison and the Brooke Astor Fund for New York City.

  • Family Birdwatching, 12 pm-1 pm: Did you know that as an Important Bird Area, Prospect Park supports an exceptional diversity of migrating birds and is an essential stopover for about 250 species of birds?  After learning how to use binoculars, participants of all ages can join Alliance naturalists on a walk to learn how to identify these birds! This program leaves promptly at 12 pm.

  • Gone Fishin’ Clinics, 1:30 pm and 3:30 pm: Have you ever wanted to try your hand at fishing? Join Prospect Park Alliance to catch-and-release fish right here in Prospect Park!  Participants will learn about local fish species, responsible fishing practices, and instruction on how to use our spin-casting rods. Instruction, tackle, and bait will be provided. Pop-Up II is suited for individuals over 8. This hour long program starts promptly at 1:30 pm and 3:30 pm, late participants cannot be accommodated.
