The Brooklyn Connection Artist Talk
Join Prospect Park Alliance, Photoville and MBP for an artist talk exploring work from the incredible set of emerging and established photographers selected to be part of The Brooklyn Connection exhibition currently on view outside of Lefferts Historic House in Prospect Park. The photographers will be discussing their work, vision, Brooklyn roots, and more in a program led by curator Jamel Shabazz.
Featuring the work of Antonio M. Rosario, Amy Touchette, Christopher Cook, Melanie Hill, Phillip Moi-Thuk-Shung, and Shino Kitano, The Brooklyn Connection exhibition is a part of the 2022 Photoville Festival in New York City and is supported by MPB and The Prospect Park Alliance.
Attendees will meet in Prospect Park at the site of the exhibit outside of Lefferts Historic House, which is presented by Prospect Park Alliance as part of the ReImagine Lefferts initiative.
The ReImagine Lefferts initiative re-envisions the mission and programming of the historic house museum to recognize its role as a site of slavery; and to tell the stories — in innovative, inclusive and forward-thinking ways—of the enslaved Africans who lived and worked on the Lefferts farm, and the Indigenous people of the Lenapehoking whose unceded ancestral lands the farm rested upon.
This event is free and open to the public. RSVP here for the artist talk.
The Brooklyn Connection is on view outside of Lefferts Historic House through September 2022. This exhibition is made possible thanks to the generous support of MPB.
