Bring your holiday tree to Prospect Park to be transformed into environment-friendly mulch that will help nourish the park– and you can even take home for your own use! Tree chipping will be at the 3rd Street Entrance and Park Circle Entrance. Please make sure to remove all decorations from the trees prior to drop-off.

Volunteers are needed to assist those bringing their trees for recycling by removing ornaments and distributing mulch throughout the park. Register to volunteer today.

Molière in the Park: A Very Modern Classical Evening

Join Prospect Park Alliance and Molière in the Park for Gaël Octavia’s fever dreamlike Family, translated by Katharine Woff and Lucie Tiberghien, and Molière’s outrageous and fast-paced farce The Imaginary Cuckold.

Learn more and reserve your free tickets here!

Performance Dates

Thursday, December 9 at 7pm and Friday, December 10 at 7pm in English.
Running Time is 1 hour 45 minutes and both performances will be followed by a Q&A with the artists involved. Proof of vaccination and ID will be checked at the door.

About The Plays

Family – In Gaël Octavia’s fever dreamlike Family, a trapped wife, a closeted queer husband, and their young children unravel under the weight of “maintaining the facade.” What is the disease that spreads through us and our families when social conventions of any kind force us into hiding?

The Imaginary Cuckold – In Molière’s farce, The Imaginary Cuckold, a tiny innocuous event gives birth to a virus called paranoia that contaminates all the characters in the story like a formidable wildfire. Within no time, all have lost their mind and become “imaginary cuckolds.”

About Molière in the Park

Molière in the Park is driven by the conviction that neighborhoods with easy, regular and affordable access to theater are breeding grounds for thriving individuals, families and communities. We believe theater promotes health and hope. It encourages communal reflection and fosters empathy as a core value. It is one of the cornerstones of a functioning society.

Founded in 2018 by Lucie Tiberghien and Garth Belcon, MIP is now becoming an annual staple of Brooklyn’s foray into summer, and is the sole company in the borough dedicated to bringing FREE theater of the highest caliber to all of the people of Brooklyn, annually.

Produced by Molière in the Park with the generous support of the Cultural Services of the French Embassy. In partnership with Prospect Park Alliance and LeFrak Center at Lakeside.
