Prospect Park Vale Construction Updates

The restoration of the Prospect Park Vale is one of the park’s largest improvement projects, and encompasses several landscapes in the northeast corner of the park. This page will provide information on the construction activities around the project, which is slated to be under construction through 2027.

Notice on Construction Vehicle Traffic:
To limit the construction’s impact on park visitors, the contractor is focusing construction vehicle traffic to the early morning hours. Vehicles enter at the nearest entrance south of the site (at Flatbush Avenue at Empire Boulevard), proceed to the construction site entrance on the East Drive near Nellie’s Lawn, and exit at Grand Army Plaza.  We apologize for any inconvenience caused by these deliveries and remain committed to keeping our community’s needs in mind as we undertake this work.

Notice on Electrical Infrastructure Work on Park Drive: To bring utilities into the Vale, the construction team will excavate and trench the Park Drive in three phases, extending from the Grand Army Plaza park entrance to just north of the construction site. To accommodate this work, the team will create narrowed pedestrian lanes and one shared bicycle/vehicle lane, installing signage to guide access. This work will start on July 13, and each phase will take approximately one month to complete.
