Adopt a Carousel Horse
Individuals and groups can permanently "adopt" or temporarily "groom" one of the beautifully crafted horses and animal figures on our historic Carousel. Built in 1912 by one of the world’s foremost Carousel sculptors for the Coney Island amusement park, the Carousel was transported to Prospect Park in 1952. After decades of neglect, it closed in 1983, reopening in 1990 after extensive restorations. The Carousel has since become one of the Park's most beloved attractions. The Carousel's inexpensive admission fee does not cover operating expenses - private funds for maintaining this piece of Brooklyn’s history are needed every year.

This is a unique way to honor a special event or person in your life, while providing a personal gift to the Park that will be appreciated and enjoyed by all who use the Carousel for years to come.
