NYC DOT Prospect Park Drive Pilot

NYC DOT is piloting pedestrian accessibility and safety improvements on the East Drive in Prospect Park from Park Circle to Grand Army Plaza. The pilot aims to calm speeds and reduce crossing conflicts by reconfiguring the lanes to provide pedestrian lanes on both sides of the drive and replace a vehicle with an extra-wide shared bike/vehicle lane. The treatment will shorten crossing distances and increase space for cyclists. The pilot will be  conducted for 18 months and public feedback will be collected to help evaluate its success.
