Get to Know New Staff: Fall 2023
Get to know the new staff members that have recently joined the Prospect Park Alliance team! Get to know Craig, Euly, Oliver and Emily below and keep an eye out to say hello to them throughout the park.
Craig Clayton, Venue Operation Manager, Rentals
What is something you like to do in your free time?
I like cooking, playing complicated board games, and playing the bass.
Do you have a favorite song/band/musician or movie/tv show or book?
Right now I’ve been listening to a lot of Dire Straits. I have a Letterboxd account where I log and rate movies I watch and sort them into lists. Some all-time favorite movies are Night of the Hunter, Moonstruck, and Hara Kiri.
What are you most looking forward to in your new role?
I’m really looking forward to improving our clients’ experiences of our beautiful venues by highlighting the things that make them unique.
Do you have any favorite places or activities you like to do in Prospect Park?
I’ve been loving doing picnics and reading on the Long Meadow this summer.
Euly Gimson, Front Desk Assistant, Tennis Center
What is something you like to do in your free time?
My favorite thing to do in my free time is simply just listening to music!
Do you have a favorite song/band/musician or movie/tv show or book?
The TV show I watch and enjoy the most would be Schitt’s Creek.
What are you most looking forward to in your new role?
What I am looking forward to most in my new role and meeting new people who have the same interest as me, tennis!
Do you have any favorite places or activities you like to do in Prospect Park?
My favorite things to do in Prospect Park are going on runs or just sitting in the sun enjoying nature.
Oliver Martinez, Seasonal Eco Zone Gardener, LMO
What is something you like to do in your free time?
In my free time, I like to look after my houseplants. The bay laurel is one of my favorites at the moment.
Do you have a favorite song/band/musician or movie/tv show or book?
My favorite album is Idle Moments by Grant Green and my favorite movie is Hereditary.
What are you most looking forward to in your new role?
I am looking forward to getting to know Prospect Park better, as well as applying all of the skills and experience I’ve gathered over the years for the park’s benefit.
Do you have any favorite places or activities you like to do in Prospect Park?
When I played pickup softball here in the park, I would always look over in awe at the American Elm grove nearby.
Emily Krell, VP, Visitor Experience + Business Development, Visitor Services
What is something you like to do in your free time?
In my free time I really love going on extra long walks, exploring various nooks and crannies around the city.
Do you have a favorite song/band/musician or movie/tv show or book?
Recently, I’ve been watching Gilmore Girls with my daughter. Such great cozy mom and kid viewing for Fall!
What are you most looking forward to in your new role?
Looking forward to working with my teams to provide welcoming and engaging visitor experiences in the park as well as to brainstorm new and exciting ways to create revenue for PPA!
Do you have any favorite places or activities you like to do in Prospect Park?
There are really too many but to name a few: relaxing near the lake on the Peninsula, people-watching at Smorgasburg, getting “lost” in the woods and trying to forget you are in NYC.
