Caroline Sprague – Development Events Manager
What is something you like to do in your free time?
In my free time, I love to cook, read, and explore new-to-me neighborhoods in Brooklyn.
Do you have a favorite song/band/musician or movie/tv show or book?
Remi Wolf is one of my all-time favorite musicians.
What are you most looking forward to in your new role?
I can’t wait to throw fantastic parties and also enjoy the quiet sanctuary of the park — this role offers such an exciting combination of my love of people + my love of nature.
Do you have any favorite places or activities you like to do in Prospect Park?
This summer, I am looking forward to picnicking (and maybe even taking a quick nap) in all corners of Prospect Park.
Chloe Urofsky – Project Coordinator, Volunteer Services
What is something you like to do in your free time?
I am very engaged in the drag community. I love watching RuPaul’s Drag Race and going to see drag performances throughout the city!
Do you have a favorite song/band/musician or movie/tv show or book?
I’ve been obsessed with TV shows like Severance, White Lotus, and The Last of Us, which have recently released new seasons.
What are you most looking forward to in your new role?
I love being outdoors, whether in a professional or recreational setting, so I am most excited to work outside in the park!
Do you have any favorite places or activities you like to do in Prospect Park?
My favorite thing to do in the park is to have picnics on the Long Meadow with my friends.
Caitlin Kuehn – Ecozone Gardener
What is something you like to do in your free time?
I love to hike and do traditional style archery.
Do you have a favorite song/band/musician or movie/tv show or book?
I really enjoyed The Light Eaters by Zoë Schlanger and Gathering Moss by Robin Wall Kimmerer is a classic fave.
What are you most looking forward to in your new role?
I am looking forward to being outside learning new aspects or improving upon my skills in restoration work, as well as any new plants I get to touch and meet up close!
Do you have any favorite places or activities you like to do in Prospect Park?
Walking through as many places as I can and seeing what new living beings (plants, lichens, birds, insects, etc…) there are to witness.
Andrew Frey – LeFrak Center Director
What is something you like to do in your free time?
I stay pretty active by playing hockey all over the city, and softball in the summer. I’m a big baseball fan as well, and spend a lot of my summer evenings at Citi Field or in Coney Island.
Do you have a favorite song/band/musician or movie/tv show or book?
Taking Back Sunday is a favorite. I’ve been known to frequent an Emo Night at Brooklyn Bowl or LPR. I also got to teach Will Forte how to drive the Zamboni for the movie Kinda Pregnant (on Netflix). It’s fun to see everything you worked on on the big screen.
What are you most looking forward to in your new role?
Not only improving the facility for all of the users, which needs a lot of TLC, but really working with the operators to expand the offerings: more recreational opportunities, more food and beverage options for all park goers and not just those at the rink, and more cultural and music events.
Do you have any favorite places or activities you like to do in Prospect Park?
I used to spend my summers roller blading on the paths, and am looking forward to doing so again as the weather finally warms up.
Tivon Phillips – Project Coordinator, Volunteer Services
What is something you like to do in your free time?
I’m a martial artist and gamer. I like to stream the games I’m playing and I mostly do free form martial arts but I have a foundation in Shotokan Karate and TKD (Tae Kwon Do).
Do you have a favorite song/band/musician or movie/tv show or book?
The TV series, Avatar the Last Airbender is in my top five shows of all time.
What are you most looking forward to in your new role?
I am looking forward to learning about the dynamics of people interacting with the park and learning about different plant and animal species (dogs included!). I’ve always enjoyed nature and I’m taking this opportunity to return to that source of myself at this job to build upon my personal knowledge of urban sustainability and how it works in live practice and the dream of increasing the scale of environmental stewardship city wide.
Do you have any favorite places or activities you like to do in Prospect Park?
My favorite activities are roller skating and ice skating at the LeFrak Center. It’s very therapeutic for me to skate for hours listening to music while I glide across the ground.
Janelle Hyppolite – People + Culture Coordinator
What is something you like to do in your free time?
I’m pretty artsy. I used to make celebration cards. I recently took up painting and am slowly getting better.
Do you have a favorite song/band/musician or movie/tv show or book?
I absolutely adore The Good Place. It’s hilarious, clever, and somehow manages to make philosophy feel deeply human and fun.
What are you most looking forward to in your new role?
I’m excited to get to know everyone. Prospect Park Alliance employs a diverse group of people that I want to learn from.
Do you have any favorite places or activities you like to do in Prospect Park?
I’ve tried to make it a habit to walk to the Boathouse during lunch. I get my steps in and I get to look at the Boathouse, win-win! I’m also part of a run club that meets in the park on Saturdays.
Irena Goldstein – Project Coordinator, Visitor Services
What is something you like to do in your free time?
During my free time I like to ride my bike.
Do you have a favorite song/band/musician or movie/tv show or book?
My favorite band is Hiatus Kaiyote, and my favorite book right now is Austerlitz.
What are you most looking forward to in your new role?
I am looking forward to gaining new managerial skills. I have been working in the field for most of my career, and I am excited to learn more about using the computer and managing people.
Do you have any favorite places or activities you like to do in Prospect Park?
My favorite place in the Park is the North Long Meadow. It is the closest part of the park to the house I grew up in, so I have lots of fond memories of hanging out there.
