Get to know the new staff members that have recently joined the Prospect Park Alliance team! Learn more about Craig, Dan, Ankur and Whitney and keep an eye out to say hello throughout the park.
Craig Froome, Facilities Maintainer
What is something you like to do in your free time?
I enjoy mountain biking, snowboarding and I’ve recently discovered indoor rock climbing and bouldering which I’m loving!
Do you have a favorite song/band/musician or movie/tv show or book?
My favorite musical genres from the last few years are jazz, funk and neo-soul and I am currently reading the book The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle.
What are you most looking forward to in your new role?
I am mainly seeing Prospect Park in a vehicle, so I’m looking forward to exploring more of it on foot.
Do you have any favorite places or activities you like to do in Prospect Park?
Coming to one of the Celebrate Brooklyn concerts to see Seun Kuti and Egypt 80 was a great experience/activity!
Dan Hobson, Director of Finance
What is something you like to do in your free time?
Long bicycle rides (until the bike seats become annoying).
Do you have a favorite song/band/musician or movie/tv show or book?
It was Luther Vandross, then Whitney Houston, and then Prince (so I won’t pick another since they seem to die on me). But for purposes of the question, I would say Luther Vandross.
What are you most looking forward to in your new role?
I am most looking forward to working with and meeting new people.
Do you have any favorite places or activities you like to do in Prospect Park?
Before I started working at Prospect Park Alliance, my park involvement was basically riding my bike around the paved roadway. I am looking forward to exploring the park inside the loop.
Ankur Patel, Senior Analyst, Finance
What is something you like to do in your free time?
I like walking, playing basketball, gaming and spending all of my money on food.
Do you have a favorite song/band/musician or movie/tv show or book?
My favorite song changes by the day, but it is currently Stay Flo by Solange, My favorite musician is Kid Cudi and my favorite TV Show is House of the Dragon.
What are you most looking forward to in your new role?
I’m most looking forward to seeing the park change as sites are built or fixed up and learning about the history of the park as progress continues to be made.
Do you have any favorite places or activities you like to do in Prospect Park?
I love the dog beach. I visit it almost every lunch break to sit, unwind, and watch doggos have a good time.
Whitney Reeder, Concession Manager, Visitor Services
What is something you like to do in your free time?
I really love to go on bike rides with my family!
Do you have a favorite song/band/musician or movie/tv show or book?
My favorite TV show is Arrested Development (original three seasons only!), and Mitski
is my favorite musician.
What are you most looking forward to in your new role?
I really cannot wait to work with the incredible team here, and learn more about the inner
workings of the park.
Do you have any favorite places or activities you like to do in Prospect Park?
One of my all-time favorite activities is to wander through Prospect Park up to the Grand
Army Plaza greenmarket – specifically, on a Saturday morning in spring when all the
cherry blossoms are in bloom.
