Get to know the new staff members that have recently joined the Prospect Park Alliance team! Take a look below to get to know David, Oksana and Kevon and keep an eye out for them to say hello throughout the park.
David Yum – Senior Architect, Design + Construction
What is something you like to do in your free time?
Playing squash and cycling.
Do you have a favorite song/band/musician or movie/tv show or book?
I enjoy watching Premier League (soccer) on the weekends. Recently, I loved “The English” on Prime.
What are you most looking forward to in your new role?
Finding my part in preserving and strengthening the vital life of the park.
Do you have any favorite places or activities you like to do in Prospect Park?
The Long Meadow. I feel it expresses Olmsted and Vaux’s distinctive vision the most.
Oksana Burmich – Accountant, Finance
What is something you like to do in your free time?
I like to bake sourdough bread. I also like hiking, skiing and biking.
Do you have a favorite song/band/musician or movie/tv show or book?
I have a lot of books and movies that I like, so it is hard to choose one. In general I like Coelho, Murakami, Vonnegut, Egan and I like to watch documentaries and comedies.
What are you most looking forward to in your new role?
I am happy to be part of the Finance Department and to be able to work with such great people toward a common goal. I am looking to be a productive team member and to grow personally and professionally.
Do you have any favorite places or activities you like to do in Prospect Park?
My favorite spot in the park is the waterfall by the Boathouse and Boathouse area in general.
Kevon Hines – Woodlands Youth Supervisor, Landscape Management
What is something you like to do in your free time?
Some things that I like to do in my free time are evaluating/keeping up with companies worth investing into, working out of my home studio and tending to my backyard garden.
Do you have a favorite song/band/musician or movie/tv show or book?
If I had to pick a favorite musician it would be Andre’ 3000, my favorite movie would definitely be Inception and my favorite book is The Alchemist.
What are you most looking forward to in your new role?
From this new role, I’m looking forward to sharing my knowledge with the youth and looking forward to learning what it takes to keep the park running so smoothly on a year round basis.
Do you have any favorite places or activities you like to do in Prospect Park?
My two favorite activities to do in the park are spending time with friends on the grass or walking the pathways with my girlfriend.
